Zdania są różne jeśli chodzi o obiekt który możemy oglądać teraz, ale jednak większość uważa, że jest to ogólna tragedia, kto był ten wie, opowiadać nie trzeba... Może tylko tyle, iż został wybudowany 1994roku i że od kilkunastu lat nie została dokończona jego wschodnia część (wiadukt nad aleją Bandurskiego).

Dawny secesyjny budynek dworca który służył do lat 70 XX wieku. Zaprojektował go architekt Czesław Domaniewski. Przed wejściem znajdowały się wysokie schody, nadające mu monumentalny charakter. Wewnątrz posiadał sporo secesyjnych detali, m.in. mosiężne wykończenia i kryształowe szyby w drzwiach. Na terenie dworca funkcjonowało kino "Dworcowe".

W 1946 roku 28 września na terenie dworca kaliskiego doszło do kolejowej tragedii w której zginęło 21 osób, a ponad 40 zostało rannych.

There are different opinions about the current form of this building, but the majority reckons it awful. The ones who has seen know it to be true, so there is no need to describe it... It is worthy to mention that it has been built in 1994 and since then its eastern part (flyover over Bandurskiego Avenue) has not been yet finished.

The old Art Nouveau building was in use until the 70s. It was designed by Czesław Domaniewski. There were high stairs in front of the entrance, giving the building monumental air. Interior was full of decorations typical for the Art Nouveau style: brass decor and crystal windows in the door. At the station there was also a cinema "Dworcowe".
On 28 September 1946 the station was a scene of railway accident: 21 people died and more than 40 was injured.
