This cache has been placed for the CCARS15 event, held April 25-26, 2015. It should not be found prior to 10:00am on Saturday 25th April, 2015. Caches for the CCARS15 event are published early so the geocaching community can plan their search routes before the event starts.
Here is a great experience inspired by fellow cacher DanBoss... It is a multistep cache to get to the logbook. Expect to spend 10-20 minutes here, playing with the cache and having ( I hope) lots of fun! Please be VERY GENTLE with the cache, the devices you will find to play with, and the containers. It is important that you replace parts EXACTLY as you found them for the enjoyment of cachers behind you. As you replace locks, please give the combo tumblers a spin.
The cache is placed where it is, because it is just minutes out of the city and unlikely to be muggled. This is a quiet road, with great views of Turner Valley (the actual Valley, not the town) and the foothills and mountains from here. The Rothney Observatory is nearby to the West.
About 15 kilometers to the south from here is the site of one of the first Oil Strikes in Canada, at the Dingman #1 well, in 1914. You will see the connection when you open the cache and undertake the first task at getting to the logbook.
Approach the cache from the driveway. You may be greeted by a VERY large, but very friendly white dog, so perhaps leave your geocaching canine buddies in the car for this one. The cache is winter friendly, but in a blinding blizzard or rain, please leave this one alone and get it another time.
HAVE FUN!! Thanks again to DanBoss for the inspiration!
