Just a nice spot in the south section of this park. Not too far from here is where Sweet Lake and Rice Lake join each other. However; when the water is low the two lakes become separated and no longer share the narrow channel.
The cache is located in the Silverwood County Park in Dane County (south section). This park is a recent addition to the county park system and has an intriguing mission and future plan. I've been helping with some volunteer work at the farm/educational area and do a lot of hiking here as well. This summer I helped teach a day and half geocaching session to a group of Edgerton Elementary summer school students and Staff at the park and school. Everybody had a great time and I even think there were a few families/staff that have joined 'the ranks'. I thought it would be nice to put a cache in the park to bring other cachers here. Please note that the south section of the park, where this cache is located, and the north section of park do not have a land connection between them. You will be trespassing if you stay 'dry' going from one section to the other. The other entrance is on Silver Lane just East of this parking lot on Hwy 106.
A Dane County Parks (Geocache) Special Use Permit has been submitted to and approved by Dawn Gray - Park Ranger. A copy of this cache's permit is stored in the cache container. Please do not remove this permit.
A prize (bison tube) is in the cache for the FTFer!
Congratulations to the geogrinches on the FTF!
