SGT red jeep: I am archiving this in response to qferrie's post, I checked on the cache and the historical marker has been removed for road construction. I hope the sign will be replaced and hopefully with better hiding opportunities. It should be a completely new location with possibly a different container. When the site becomes available again, it is fair game on who hides a cache there first.

Geocache Description:

A small cache that is a cross between a micro and a nano. Hidden at a roadside historical marker.

A tiny cache hidden at a marker that gives a bit of history. The site of Fort Gilbert lies to the east along the banks of the Yellowstone River. Nothing remains of the trading post which only existed for about four years. The area is on private property with no public access. Much of the early history and trade in Montana was along the Yellowstone or Missouri Rivers but there is little of these early settlements that remain.
