The Pungs-Finch Auto & Gas Engine Co. Detroit, Michigan 1906

The Finch Limited was an American Automobile made by the Pungs-Finch Auto & Gas Engine Co. in 1906. The Pungs-Finch Auto & Gas Engine Co. also produced the Pungs-Finch from 1904 to 1910. In place of the Pungs-Finch the Finch Limited name was adopted and copyrighted. The word Limited being thoroughly identified with the speedy and luxurious railway service of the early 1900s.

Finch Limited was equipped with a large four cylinder engine with cylinder bore of 5 3/4 inch and a 6 1/4 inch stroke. This 50 horsepower engine was made by The Pungs-Finch Auto & Gas Engine Co. The three speeds forward and reverse sliding gear transmission was designed by Edward B. Finch who was the chief design engineer for The Pungs-Finch Auto & Gas Engine Co. the rear axles were made by The Federal Company.

Other features of the 1906 Finch Limited included a tonneau body, side entrance, wheelbase of 110 inches, 56 inch tread, 34 inch x 4 inch wheels and tires, seats seven, weights 2,600 pounds, pressed steel frame and cost $3,500. To enter Belle Isle State Park you will need either a Michigan State Park Passport or a day pass. Residents are $11.00 per year, non residence is $31.00 per year and the daily pass is $9.00 per day.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has given the Belle Isle Cachers exclusive permission to place all geocaches on Belle Isle State Park. Please be respectful to the park, its management and all other visitors during your time here.

This park is very busy year round, please use extreme stealth at all times as every area is being used by others. Rock hides give great views around the island, we have marked the cache location to help with your finds so please replace just as you found them.
