Wolverine Reid Mfg. Co. Detroit, MI 1904-1905
The Wolverine Automobile Co. Detroit, MI 1906

A 1904 Chainless Wolverine cost $1,750.00. Features included a bevel gear drive with sliding gear transmission three speeds forward and reverse, speed range was 6 to 36 MPH, long wheelbase, high back tonneau, leather interior, wooden artillery wheels and 30 x 3 1/2 inch Diamond Tires.

The Wolverine Automobile Co. was sometimes referred to as The Wolverine Automobile & Commercial Vehicle Co. in some advertising and vintage automobile books. Shown below is the 1905 Wolverine Model "C" that was made in Detroit by both the Reid Mfg. Co. and The Wolverine Automobile Co.

Advertised in this 1905 Auto Literature call this American Automobile "The Chainless Wolverine" and that it was "Like The Deer - Swift, Graceful and Beautiful" and "The Car of Simplicity and Merit".

The 1904 and 1905 Wolverine automobiles were equipped with 2 cylinder 2 cycle 10 horsepower & 15 horsepower engines. In addition to the four passengers Tonneau a two passenger Runabout was also produced. These automobiles list for $1,200.00.

The Wolverine Automobile Co. built this 4 cylinder 40 horsepower Tonneau body Touring Car in 1906. It was called the Wolverine Model "E". The Model "E" listed for about $2,000.00. Specifications: The wheelbase was 102 inches, tread was 56 inches, wheels were 32 inches x 4 inches. The Model "C" had a surrey body, but the regular Model "E" will be a side entrance Tonneau.

To enter Belle Isle State Park you will need either a Michigan State Park Passport or a day pass. Residents are $11.00 per year, non residence is $31.00 per year and the daily pass is $9.00 per day.

The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has given the Belle Isle Cachers exclusive permission to place all geocaches on Belle Isle State Park. Please be respectful to the park, its management and all other visitors during your time here.

This park is very busy year round, please use extreme stealth at all times as every area is being used by others. Rock hides give great views around the island, we have marked the cache location to help with your finds so please replace just as you found them.
