The event is being held on land belonging to and in conjunction with Leeds City Council and is managed by Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. It was really important to me to hold a CITO event on a piece of their land as the trusts across the country have been very supportive of Geocaching in general and it is great to be able to give something back. It is fabulous that Kate from the Trust will be able to join us on the day and tell us about the work that they do.
There are many caches locally that are on land that they manage and sadly there is a good deal of litter around, which is where we step in.
On the day, people arriving at the coordinates will be directed either west, or east along the lines with a bag and a litter picker. If you have a picker and/or gardening type gloves, it would be really helpful if you could bring them with you. I am trying to source some more though.
There is a bit of roadside parking but please do it responsibly and with consideration to the locals!
There will be a souvenir issued from geocaching.com for attending the event, which I will add to the cache page for you to see when it has been announced.
More details will be announced in due course, so make sure you watch the listing or log your will attend to get the news!
