Highfields station has a wholetime section only. It is also the base for the Specialist Rescue Team.
The station has one fire engine. Additional vehicles include:

Aerial Ladder Platform (ALP) – a powered high-reach ladder.

Breathing Apparatus Unit (BAU) – for managing the use of breathing apparatus at large incidents.

Incident Support Unit (ISU) – providing welfare facilities (eg food, drink, body temperature cooling) for firefighters at large or long-running incidents. This is run by retained firefighters from Stapleford fire station.

First Response vehicle – providing an initial medical response at incidents and crewed by retained firefighters at Highfields.

Specialist Rescue vehicles – including a Specialist Rescue Unit, a 4 x 4 Land Rover and a boat, crewed by the
Specialist Rescue Team.
The station forms part of the Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service South Group, which includes Carlton, Bingham, West Bridgford, Stapleford, Eastwood, Arnold and East Leake.
