Geocache Description:

A meeting in Barnet in the early evening.

Meeting between 6.50 and 7.20pm . A quick meeting to discuss geocaching swop travelbugs and plan a geocaching expediation to Cambridge.

Thomas Telford buildt an embankment in 1820 to less the slode up Barnet Hill. Work on Pricklers Hill began in 1820 and an embankment was raised to smooth out the slope towards Underhill. This ridge is very evident from within Greenhill Park and from the houses on the eastern side. The stream which flowed from the Greenhill House lakes into Dollis Brook was diverted through a drain beneath the road. We will look to see if we can spot other evidence of this work.
