What: A workshop designed to teach you how to create a Wherigo cartridge so you can build your own Wherigo caches wherever you'd like. As mentioned, for those that have basic knowledge already, we will use the time to brainstorm bigger and better ideas for Wherigo Caches.
Where: The Coffee Tree, 210 E. 4th Street, Loveland, CO 80537 at the given coordinates.
When: March 31st, from 6:30pm to 8:00 pm or until everyone has learned what they want to learn.
Why: So you can create your own adventures, games, puzzles, quizzes, or works of art using the Wherigo program, and so we can add more of them to the Colorado area!
Who: Beginners and experts alike, I'm sure we can teach you something new, or help expand on ideas you already have.
Each person who attends this event will be able to leave a with a completed, play-anywhere Wherigo Cartridge built and ready to go. All you will have to do upon leaving is find a place to hide the cache. The Wherigo we will help you build is going to be a simple quiz-based cartridge, so that players can answer the questions at home, and then upon completion will be given the coordinates for the cache.
Come prepared: Make sure you bring your laptop, wall charger, battery source, or anything you need to successfully build a Wherigo cartridge. If you do not have a laptop, I will let you use mine if needed. Also, make sure to bring an idea with you. If you want to make the simple quiz cartridge, then bring up to 5 questions with you. They can be about any topic you want, but please make sure they are appropriate.
If you have prior experience and want to build something more advanced than a play-anywhere cartridge, bring an idea to the table and if you need help creating it, we will help you.
Depending on the number of cachers that show up, as well as the number of volunteers who will help teach the others, we may be able to get more than one cartridge built per person. We will also show you how to use a simple template to build more than one Wherigo by simply making small changes.
This event is not mandatory, and if you do not wish to learn about Wherigo Caches you can still show up to mingle, collect trackable codes, enjoy some fine coffee, and have fun!
If you wish to attend, simply mark "Will Attend" with how many will be joining to learn how to build a Wherigo cartridge. If you wish to volunteer to help others build them, make sure to mark that in your log. The more volunteers, the faster we can answer questions and get to everyone.
The last workshop we had spurred a great deal of Wherigo Caches, so hopefully this one will bring even more to the area. I hope to see you there!
