If you're travelling on this road, chances are that you are headed into or out of the Florida Keys. This would be a quick leg-stretcher for you.

Using the information provided for each Key below, determine the name of each Key, then note the underlined symbol (@, #, etc.) in the name of the Key.  That symbol is a letter in the name of the Key.  Then use the Letter/Number key below (A=6, B=9, etc.) to obtain the appropriate number to substitute for the symbol in the solution coordinates. Key _ _ _ @ _ is an island in the upper Florida Keys archipelago and is the largest section of the Keys, at 33 miles (53 km) long.  It is a popular tourist destination and calls itself the "Diving Capital of the World" because the living coral reef a few miles offshore attracts thousands of scuba divers and sport-fishing enthusiasts.

_ _ _ _ _ _ # _ _ _ _ Key has the Keys' highest point above sea level of 19 feet (5.8 m), which beats the island of Key West's Solares Hill by 1 foot (0.30 m). This dark green island is covered in rare tropical hardwoods.

_ _ $ _ Key is an island in the middle Florida Keys, located entirely within the borders of the city of Marathon, Florida. It is often incorrectly identified as "Marathon Key". The 1957 book The Florida Keys indicates that the island's name comes from wild cattle that used to live on the island. Evidence of these cattle has never been found. The name may also refer to manatees, "sea cows" that thrived in the area prior to the 1950s.

_ _ _ _ _  % _ _ _ _ Key, in 1890, was actually the southern terminus for Miami-Dade county which stretched as far north as present day St. Lucie River. Henry Flagler's Florida East Coast Railway once ran through the present parkland to Key West. Built between 1905 and 1912, it was destroyed by the severe Labor Day Hurricane of 1935. Later, the railroad bridge foundations were used to build the Overseas Highway, which became U.S. 1.

_ _ _ & _ _ Key is a census-designated place and Unincorporated community in Monroe County, Florida, on an island of the same name in the lower Florida Keys.  An Air Force Station on this Key flies a white radar aerostat, known locally as "Fat Albert", which is used for drug interdiction missions by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

The _ _ _ * _ _ _ _ _ Keys form an uninhabited island group about 20 miles (32 km) west of Key West, 4 miles (6 km) in diameter, and largely covered by mangrove forest. They are protected as part of the Key West National Wildlife Refuge. These keys were used for target practice by the military as recently as 1980.
