Johnson County Park & Recreation District (JCPRD) is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2015. The District is a leader in its field providing the community with top quality parks and recreational opportunities while being responsible stewards of all our resources. The District’s contributions to the personal lives of Johnson County’s citizens have earned the District local appreciation and national acclaim. Each year the District records more than 7 million park visitors and over 2 million recreation participations in over 4,000 programs. Their slogan is “What do YOU do for fun? If you are reading this, one answer is probably Geocaching. The District is planning many special activities throughout the year. With that in mind, and with the District’s approval we bring you 60 JCPRD caches, one for each of their 60 years. The benefits of recreation and parks span every age and demographic component. Their positive influences are immediate, long-lasting and affect the individual, the community, the economy and the environment. This series highlights some of the District’s recreation offerings with 15 different caches listed below. Each recreation site has a cache with a code in it. Collect all 15 and you will have the coordinates to this series final. The caches are at or near the facilities. Because of this, you may need to be aware of operating hours and times the muggles might be a problem. You will not have to enter any areas that require fees. Enjoy these gems of the county and happy caching, but most of all have FUN!
This cache is for Mildale Farm, JCPRD’s premier event facility. This facility is rented for weddings and is booked most weekends during the year. Although the cache is outside the fence and gates of Mildale and should be able to be found without trouble, please respect those using the facility while getting this cache. This letterbox cache is a wedding themed cache including a Mildale Farm wedding stamp and pad. Like some Marriages this cache is a little rocky. This is not a high muggle area but could be busy especially during weekend wedding rental events. Please rehide well.
