Dale Evans, was born in Uvalde, Texas in 1912 as Lucille Wood Smith, and soon after it was changed to Frances Octavia Smith. She eloped with her first husband at age 14. At age 15, and now a single parent, she started a musical career in Memphis, Tennessee and took the name 'Dale Evans'.
In 1947, she married Roy Rogers (her 4th husband) at the Flying L Ranch is Davis, Oklahoma where they had earlier filmed the movie 'Home in Oklahoma'. Evans and Rogers had one child, Robin, who died before her second birthday.
Dale Evans passed at age 88 in Apple Valley, California in 2001.
The cache is located along Bridle Crest Trail. There are multiple selections for parking depending on just how close you want to get to the cache to start your search. Cache is a silver bison, a little larger than normal, located just off the trail a few yards.
