This is another place I spent a lot of time as a kid this area was all part of Bideford shipyard we made some good jumps up for our BMXs.
1986/85 They started work on the link road and the new Bideford bridge you can see, we also spent a lot of time playing around this while it was being build I can say that I have been under the bridge by boat and canoe and have flown over it in lomas helicopter and walked all the way through the middle of the new bridge and my name is writen inside it somewhere. Bideford new bridge opened to traffic early 1987 that seams a long time ago now. Up at Heywood roundabout was the site and cemente works where they made all the bridge parts and transported them by lorry down to where the bridge is. They also had a temporary bridge they used to make the casements for the bridge foundations that used to wobble when the cement trucks reversed onto it.
