VSP Sky Meadows Civil War Adventure Traditional Cache

Located along a rock wall near our picnic area, this cache is very accessible.  The terrain is flat, mowed grass.  The picnic area is 700 feet elevation and remains level.   

The cache highlights the battle of Upperville; the battle fought only 5 miles from where the Settle family had their home. From troop movements to family members involved in the battle; this event impacted the lives of the Settle and Edmonds family. The battle was also the beginning of a lifelong friendship between Dr. Settle and Charles T. O’Farrell; a future governor of Virginia. The box will contain a logbook and plastic rings which will serve as a reminder of the account and can be used by participants to leave behind at other caches. The cache box is a short distance from the picnic area parking lot.
