Geocache Description:

Welcome To Rimrodt Farm

As you can see from the picture you will be at the Rimrodt Farm Monument. I have talked to the present family member that takes care of the farm and found some interesting facts. As you will read on the monument the farm was first established by Johann Justin Ludowig Rimrodt who came over from Germany and created the farm in 1862. The original farm was around 800 acres but through the years has settled down to about 125 acres. I have tried to lookup more information about the farm but haven't come across anything else. The monument is a local rock of Oconee Blue Granite. I pass this monument everyday and just found it interesting and thought I would share it with others. The present family members are very proud of their farm and heritage and found it interesting to share through Geocaching. You will notice a small cut in entrance to pull into but be very careful because there is a drainage ditch along the road so DO NOT park at the house across the street.  I hope you enjoy your stop here! FTF goes to Will3704 and Butterfly685

Now For The Cache

As you walk up to the monument you will notice a slate rock wall that surrounds it. Please DO NOT go turning any of the rocks over because it is not there. But it is there somewhere.
