Geocache Description:

This is a replacement for the cache kindly originally placed here by the Dastardly Dillons, and since archived.  Such a wonderful location so thought id bring it back to life.  The Culsh Monument is just outside the village of New Deer, and has wonderful views across open countryside as far as Mormond Hill, and the White Horse in Strichen.

The Culsh Monument itself is dedicated to William Fordyce whom is buried in the neighbouring graveyard, and was responsible for the development of the village of Old Deer, along with New Deer and Stuartfield.   Behind the Monument is a lovely area of old native woodland, with snowdrops, wild garlic, and bluebells carpeting the floor throughout the seasons.  To the front of the monument are views across the surrounding area, which are extensive due to the location of the site on a hill.  Windy most of the time!  But a lovely place.  There are a couple of benches for a picnic, and a bin for rubbish, and the key may be obtained from the post office for anyone wishing to climb the stairs inside the monument.

Cache has recently been replaced as had been completely destroyed and is now a small cliplock container full of goodies including a new log book and pencils. Please re-hide well :)
