You are looking for an ammo can, with trade items and a FTF prize, in an out of the way place that not many have visited. Reaching the cache willl require a hike which ever way you choose to come from. Dress appropriately as you will encounter thorns, nettles, thickets and cedars along the way. I would suggest pants and hiking boots, no flip- flops. I suggest you partner up for this if you are not an outdoorsy type as MOUNTAIN LIONS have been spotted in this area. If the lake isn't to full you can stay along the shoreline most of the way but as you near the cache you will have to go inland but if possible I would try to keep the water viewable. IF ENTRING FROM THE EAST - PLEASE STAY NORTH OF N 39 52.900 as south of that is private land, if you keep the water in sight you will be fine. IF ENTERING FROM THE WEST STAY NORTH OF N 39 52.800 as South of that is private property. Although the West parking is closer water/ creek conditions may make it a much tougher hike. ENJOY
The following link tells the history of this area, click the link and scroll down to "EARLY SETTLEMENTS OF THE COUNTY" and the first long paragraph goes into the details of what took place here. There also is a small marker at the information shelter at West Parking cords. http://www.kancoll.org/books/cutler/jewell/jewell-co-p1.html
