Geocache Description:

This cache is part of the Red Sox geoart and is NOT at its posted coordinates. Please do not go there but instead, solve for the coordinates below. There is plenty of room near the cache to pull your car off the road safely but beware that during wet times, some wading may be necessary.

After a disheartening loss in Game 7 against the New York Yankees in 2003, Terry Francona (N 27° 33.690 W 080° 49.541), Curt Schilling, and Keith Foulke (N 27° 32.179 W 080° 48.587) were brought in to Reverse the Curse referring to the then 85-year drought from World Series Championships. The Curse of the Bambino had it that because the Red Sox had sold Babe Ruth to the New York Yankees, they would never win a championship again.

Just after being traded to the Red Sox, Curt Schilling appeared in an advertisement for the Ford F-150 pickup truck hitchhiking in Arizona with a sign indicating he was going to Boston. When picked up, he said that he had "an 86-year-old curse" to break.

In April of 2004, TV Guide's cover showed Curt Schilling and Keith Foulke with the words "Ending the Curse." It is believed that it was just a coincidence that RetiredGuy was President of TV Guide Consumer Electronics at the time.

Since that year, the Red Sox have gone on to win three World Championships. This cache is at N 27° 32.260 W 080° 48.639, thanks for reading.
