The Deadwood to Cheyenne Stage ran up this valley to the north during the period of 1876 to 1890. Lots of information on the historical sign on the pull off. Imagine the hardships faced by travelers in the dusty,crowded, and not very well suspended coaches on their way to the gold fields of Deadwood, South Dakota. Enjoy the cache.
