A brief, incomplete history of pi. Pi is a constant, the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. We now know the value of pi to trillions of decimal places, but it wasn’t always this accurate. THIS CACHE IS NOT LOCATED AT THE COORDINATES LISTED ABOVE. You need to solve for: N44 AB.CDE W103 FG.HIJ in order to find the cache.
Archimedes estimated pi to be between 3 1/7 and 3 IA/7F. Ptolemy (1GG-17G) estimated pi to be approximately 3.141JJJ. Zu Chongzhi (42H-5DE) estimated pi to be CBB/IIC. Using the Greek letter π for pi was first used by William Jones in 17AJ. Saturday, March 14 2015 people will celebrate Pi Day at 9:26:53 a.m. Note that you can find this cache any day. However, if you find this on March 14, 2015, you will receive another souvenir on your geocaching profile. PLEASE BRING A PENCIL TO SIGN THE LOGBOOK AS THERE MAY NOT BE ONE IN THE CACHE. To get credit for the cache you need to sign the logbook.
