Geocache Description:

This cache was placed in celebration of the Pretoria Pi Day event cache (March 14, 2015) which formed part of a Pi Day multi-event across the globe.  This is also the first in my series of gadget caches and will require some diagonal thinking ;)

The cache is situated on private property with 24/7 security but the gate is only open from 6:00 - 22:00 during the week and 6:00 to 18:00 on Saturdays. Safe parking is available within a few meters of the cache.

If you run in to any trouble (with muggles or the cache) please contact Marcus @ 082 335 0066.

Remember any cache can only be logged as found if the log sheet is signed. No tools are required to retrieve the cache.

Pi (Greek letter “π”) is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant — the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter — which is approximately 3.14159.

Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th (3/14) around the world. In the year 2015, Pi Day had special significance on 3/14/15 at 9:26:53 a.m. and p.m., with the date and time representing the first 10 digits of π.

Pi has been calculated to over one trillion digits beyond its decimal point. As an irrational and transcendental number, it will continue infinitely without repetition or pattern. While only a handful of digits are needed for typical calculations, Pi’s infinite nature makes it a fun challenge to memorize, and to computationally calculate more and more digits.
