Because the old Highway was on the eastern side of the current Freeway at one time this was a busy area. There are a few very old houses hidden away and there is also a Memorial to Lieutenant L Maygar and his men. He was the first Victorian to be awarded the V.C. during the Boer War. His name is also mentioned on a memorial in Longwood on the other side of the Freeway. There is in fact a cache (GC104XM) Maygar's Men quite close to this Cemetery, so you might like to visit that at the same time.

The Jacomb headstone was discovered at a nearby farm and it was patched up and re-erected over mother and child. It seems poor Sarah died from the complications of childbirth. She was 18.
