Geocache Description:

Here you will find my 52nd Church Micro. 

Your looking for a small screw top container.

Beware of brambles and there was some barbed wire not to far from the tree just to the NE from the cache so watch out for that.


So on to the description.

The Church of the Holy Trinity was built in the 1840s in a perpendicular style, designed by George Phillips Manners It was built for the Rev. Charles Otway Mayne of Midsomer Norton. It has a small three-stage tower, a two bay nave and two bay chancel. It is a Grade II listed building. The building is now used as apartments.

1847-49. Built for the Rev. Charles Otway Mayne of Midsomer-Norton. Architect G. P. Manners (Bath City Architect). Small church in quasi-Perpendicular style. Dressed limestone rubble with alternate thick bands. Slate roof with coped verges. Mostly square headed single windows with cusped foiled tracery, 2 light at south gable end, 3 light east, north and west ends (arched) -chancel 3 light plate tracery with oculi and side windows in Decorated style. Cruciform plan with bellcote between chancel and nave and small 3 stage crenellated turret in north-east angle. Two bay nave and 2 bay chancel. South porch in centre of nave with arched entrance and weathered buttresses. Contemporary gate piers, blind tracery panels, and gates. Interior: small cruciform space with small chapel to south-east. Chancel windows have rere-arches. High altar with angels on corners of canopy stand.
