Please help keep this cache functional! It is imperative that the cap be put back on when you are finished. If there is no cap, water from rain and snow fills the cache, ruins the log, and spoils the puzzle. Please also do NOT crank the cap down hard. One or two turns will do it at all times. If you crank the cap on tight, it cannot be removed without a monkey wrench and a hammer. This ruins the puzzle for others and results in the cache being out of commission for days or weeks until I can get down there to fix it. Gently please! Thank you for your assistance in keeping this cache operational!

This cache is located in Powhatan State Park, the Commonwealth's newest state park. The park is open dawn to dusk 365 days a year, but a parking fee is required at all times. Updated price: as of August 22, 2017, the fee is $4 at all times. Please follow all park rules and procedures. This is a very nice park with a good number of pleasant hiking trails (great place for children and dogs!), and there are several other caches in place, so you can make a day of it.
This cache idea is adapted slightly from a great cache I did in Texas last winter: "River of Deceit" (GC4TBGA), and I thank Redd Metal for the great inspiration! This was such a fun cache to solve that I felt we needed one in our area! The posted coordinates ARE correct! This is a field puzzle—the cache is in plain sight, but retrieving the log requires some ingenuity and effort! The difficulty rating is for solving the puzzle—it is quite easy to find the cache and, if you cheat by ignoring the rules listed below, the difficulty goes down to 1.5. The terrain rating is for the final stage once you've solved the puzzle; the cache location itself is a 2. In the attributes "Teamwork" is checked. Although it is not required, it would be easier to solve this puzzle with an extra set of hands. The terrain for solving the puzzle is NOT recommended for children; if you have children along, please take care at all times. Let them observe for this one!

Please read my rules below and respect them. They exist to keep the container from being damaged, to keep this cache fun for everyone (no one likes to navigate to a broken field puzzle), and to eliminate the need for constant maintenance. You will also enjoy the experience much more if you actually solve the puzzle, rather than taking shortcuts that result in a find with a misleading difficulty rating.
The Rules:
• DO NOT pull the stake out of the ground!
• DO NOT remove the container from the stake to which it is attached!
• DO NOT poke or stick anything into the cache container, this will damage it! If the cache ends up requiring too-frequent maintenance, I will have to archive it, as I, too, have to pay the parking fee every time I come in to check!
• DO NOT post solutions to the puzzle, either in the text or in photos. I will have to delete all logs with spoilers. (I'll contact you and ask you to repost your find without the spoiler.)
• DO NOT leave trackables or swag in this cache, even if you think that there is space for them. If you actually solve the puzzle, you will realize why that is not actually so.
• DO replace the cache exactly as you found it so that it is not ruined by weather and so that those who come after you will also have to solve the puzzle to sign the log. Other than that, enjoy the cache! Anyone can log this find, even people who decide to shortcut the process and skip the puzzle, though it would be much better if you do not do so!
