In many ways, Discovery Bay (AKA DB) is very different from other islands. Unlike other large Hong Kong developments, everything in DB was built with private money, including roads, electricity and the water supply. Even the government-operated fire and police stations and the government-aided local primary school were built by the developer. (source Wiki)
Private cars are not allowed, so many residents drive golf cars instead. Pets are allowed in DB, whereas other developments generally ban them. So you will see a lot of people walking dog here or you can even say hello to some cute doggies in their front yards. There are also many expats families live here.
How to get there: Best way is by ferry from central pier. You can get a free return ferry ticket if you spend $120 dinning in one of the selected restaurants there. The resturants in DB are quite fancy, so it is a good place to have a romantic caching date there.
Alternatively there are buses travelling from Tung Chung.
