Geocache Description:

Second place for Best Mystery Cache 2015, big thankyou to all that voted and to all that left favourite points and comments past and future.

In this area years ago back in the 1800s water was pumped from deep wells that were over 57 feet deep/25.5 meters, this was to supply Gawler with drinking water.

These wells also fed the local industry, the original remains on site which became a State Heritage Place in 1882.

The pumping station building and superintendent’s residence were built in 1882/83 which is located on the corner of Murray Streets and Julian Terrace; these were only a couple hundred meters from each other.

From here, a steam driven engine pumped water to storage tanks high up on Carlton Road which is approximately 5 to 10 km from this location, then piped to houses in and around town.
Today this area has been transform slightly with new bike tracks that travel the full length of town from Dead Man’s Pass through to Clonlea Park.

This Puzzle Cache is something new to the Gawler area enjoy.
Please use super stealth when at GZ as it is a high muggle area during the day.
