Sally Ann Williams
Sarah Ann (Sally) Williams, daughter of A.J. And Martha Williams of Honey Island, married J.J. Thebedeaux and lived at Hardin. Sally, a true pioneer lady, knew exactly what to do when a bear came up to her door. She grabbed a shotgun, shot the bear, skinned it and had the meat cooking when her husband came home. She died in 1929 and was buried as she wished, unembalmed in a plain pine coffin at Old Hardin.
