The Cache:
When a couple of my proposed caches were too close to the physical location of a couple of existing mystery caches (and consequently not published) I needed to find some new locations. While out cycling one morning I cycled around and around George Burnett Park and observed a number of giant “rings”. I’m not sure what they are about, but they are interesting. As far as I know the closest cache is near Lake Gillon in the SE corner of the Park. So, this large park now has a cache, reasonably close to the skate park.
There is nothing special about the placement of this cache. It should be a fairly straightforward and easy find. An easy one for kids and those new to geocaching.
The Park is quite interesting with numerous features, including a very wide asphalt path (possibly for roller skating), the skate park, many gazebos, picnic tables and barbecues and of course the “rings”. If you’ve got kids and bikes it’s worth a visit, even if there wasn’t a cache in place.
It is possible that people in wheelchairs might be able to reach this cache, but maybe not. You’ll need to get off the path and on to the grass.
You are looking for a plastic container for an SD memory card. After you’ve found it, and signed the log, please replace the cache container as found.
The park is reasonably busy at times, with many dog walkers and others picnicking at the various sites. The skate park probably gets busy too, so your searching may be observed. Stealth will be required.
You’ll need to bring your own pen or pencil to sign the log sheet.
