Geocache Description:

For centuries Exmouth was a thriving port and centre of ship-building. Sir Walter Raleigh began many of his journeys from the harbour and in later years Exmouth became a centre for international trade. After a series of seasonal docks, in the early 1800s a permanent dock was built and on the area surrounding it a community of about 125 wooden chalets developed. The working docks closed in 1989, and in recent years the whole area has been re-developed into an up-market marina.

This multi will take you on a short walk around the area which is about half a mile and can probably be done in about 30 minutes, but we encourage you to take your time and admire the views, particularly between waypoints 2 & 3. There are 4 food & drink outlets in the area but no public toilets at this end of the seafront. The whole route and the cache itself are wheelchair & buggy accessible.

To find the cache you will need to visit the following waypoints and answer the questions:

Waypoint 1 N 50 37.028 W 003 25.434 - The last digit of the first phone number for Starcross ferry = A

Waypoint 2 N 50 37.015 W 003 25.465 - Number of large points on the stone design minus the number of small points on the design = B

Waypoint 3 N 50 37.082 W 003 25.578 - How many posts have green triangles on them? = C

Waypoint 4 N 50 37.128 W 003 25.411 - How many ‘natural fibres’ are listed on the sign? = D

Waypoint 5 N 50 37.074 W 003 25.341 - Number of thin bars on the gate = E

Waypoint 6 N 50 37.024 W 003 25.383 - Number of steps + number of railings on steps = F

The cache, a small clip-lock box, is hidden at:    N 50 37.ABC W 003 25.DEF
