Chiltern Football Club has a proud history since its foundation in the gold rush days. The club won 12 Premierships in the Chiltern and District Football Association from 1914 to 1953, and a further 10 in the Ovens and King Football League from 1957 to 1998. Since 2003 they have played in the Tallangatta and District League. Notable products of this football machine have been the many Lappin boys including Nigel (Brisbane Lions triple AFL Premiership player) and Matthew (Carlton).
