Pałac Sapiehów Traditional Cache

Pałac w stylu barokowym powstały na miejscu zamku z czasów Kazimierza Wielkiego tj. XIV wieku. W 1749 wojewoda smoleński Piotr Sapieha postanowił go odrestaurować i doprowadzić do obecnej postaci, którą znamy obecnie. W czasie II wojny światowej pałac spalono i do chwili obecnej, mimo przejścia w prywatne ręce - w 1992 r. pałac kupiła hrabina Elwira Hennicke, nie zdołano go jednak przywrócić do stanu swojej świetności.

Pałac otoczony jest ogromnym parkiem, gdzie na szczególna uwagę zasługuje cmentarz wraz z mauzuleum rodziny Schulenburgów, ostatnich włascicieli przed wybuchem wojny.

Obecnie posiadłość stanowi własność prywatną, gdzie wszystcy turyści nie są mile widziani. Jednakże, miejsce to jest tak niesamowite ze względu na swe walory architektoniczne, że warto je podziwiać z zewnątrz. Poleca się eksplorację od ul.Pilskiej.

Baroque-style palace built on the site of the castle from the times of King Casimir the Great, from the 14th century. In 1749 Smolensk province governor Piotr Sapieha decided to restore it and bring to the present form we know today. During World War II the palace was burned and until now, despite the transition into private hands (in 1992 it was bought by Countess Elvira Henniche), it hasn't been restored to the state of its glory.

The palace is surrounded by a huge park, where you can esplore a cryptic and forlorn cemetery with the Schulenburg family mausoleum , the last owners before the war.

Currently, the property is privately owned, where all tourists are not welcomed. However, the place is so amazing because of its architectural virtues that should be admired even though from the outside. It is recommended to be explored at the side of the Pilska Street.
