This area is part of the East Foster Creek Restoration Project to benefit salmonids and resident fish species by greatly reducing the sediment loading into the creek bed. Hiway construction and past land use increased runoff events into the creek causing erosion and sediment. This project is working with private land owners in an area visible to the public. (Hwy 17) The restoration plantings in this area were done with the help of students from Mansfield and Orondo Elementary Schools and Bridgeport High Schools.
There is a large pullover area here for cars and RV's. There is no need to cross the barb wire fence. Cache is not on the sign which is also on the other side of the fence. Depending on the snow, probably not winter friendly.
