The I-275 Bike Trail now uses Meadowbrook Road to connect the section further to the north to that along of M-5. As with the other sections, I am naming them after bicycle manufacturers. This cache is named after Thomas Auto-Bi. E. R. Thomas Motor Company was a New York manufacturer of motorized bicycles, motorized tricycles, motorcycles and automobiles. In 1896, Edwin Ross Thomas began selling gasoline engine kits for propelling ordinary bicycles. After forming the Thomas Motor Company, he began selling complete motor-assisted bicycles under the name Thomas Auto-Bi. The Auto-Bi is considered to be the first production motorized bicycle made in the United States.
