This thorn veld reserve is 250 ha and managed by the Msunduzi Municipality . It is an easy area to walk, and contains excellent bushveld birds, plus giraffe, Impala and Zebra.
Early in the last century the area was used for Bisley shooting. Remnants from that time can still be seen. Watch out for giraffe, they have lost their fear of humans, keep your distance.
The security gate to the horse stables is ALWAYS closed but not locked and can be pushed open The gate MUST be left closed after entering or leaving the reserve. . Follow the signs to the picnic / parking. Here at parking the hinge gate is always locked but there is foot access gate.
