Geocache Description:

One-room schools were commonplace throughout rural portions of Pipestone County in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

District 41 was approved on August 18, 1883. The school was located on Section 7 in the township. It was known as the Pete Minet School because it was on his property. The district dissolved in 1954 and the students were transported to Holland. In August 1955, the building was moved to Pipestone and placed on the SW corner of the town school to alleviate crowding along with District 46’s building from Sweet Township. Auction was held June 14, 1960 and both buildings were sold. District 41 was sold to Lorin Keller for $200 and District 46 was sold to Wallace Cattnach for $175.
