Geocache Description:

In the 1950's this was the residence of Bill and Cliff Lichtenhaun.  Two brothers from Germany that started mining Uranium and created a 3 cave home.  They are all in excellent condition and look as if they just moved out a week ago.  Here is a print article that was written about the two:

They came to the area to mine Uranium.  Their home contained 3 caves.

Residence

The first (looks like the garage) contained a boat that they had planned to use on Lake Powell when construction of the dam was eventually completed.

The second cave was the residence.  It contains a couple of beds and a table with shelves cut into the cave walls.

The third cave was a workshop.

You can park just off the road where there a couple of rusted out old cars parked already.

Parking

At N 37'27.127 W111'15.777 there is a rock polisher the brothers would use to polish petrified wood for sale as decorations or table tops.  They would power it with a car engine they would connect to it to drive the belt and sell to supplement their endeavors.

The brothers disappeared and no one knows what happened to them.
