Didn't see any snakes while on this trail, but I did see a scorpion the size of my thumb, hence the name. I'm not sure what species it was, but it looked a lot like the one pictured. The cache is located just off trail with very minimal bushwacking if you approach it right. It was exactly a half mile hike from the east trail head at "Start Here".
