Michael J. Mauri Park sits right in the heart of Roselle Park. Chestnut Street is the Main Street here! Many town-wide events are held at the gazebo park, including the annual holiday caroling where Santa and Mrs. Claus have been know to show up, the Farmer's Market, and classic car shows. Across Chestnut street is the 07204 post office, which borough residents successfully fought to keep open in recent years. Across Grant Ave. from that is the Roselle Park Museum, run and maintained by the RP Historical Society, and a short way up Chestnut St is the Casano Community Center, a regular hang-out spot for local seniors and many others. The Community Methodist Church is right across Grant Ave from Mauri Park, home to rummage sales, pancake breakfasts/pasta dinners and the Community Preschool.
You could say that this cache replaces an older "Main St" cache that was recently archived, except I didn't know about that one until after I placed this one. ;)
