Spirit Quest - Maccabee Cemetery.
The cache is located near the entrance road to the cemetery. It is no where near any graves, it should be an easy find especially with the use of the hint. As with any cemetery cache please be respectful of the grounds and any possible visitors or mourners that might not understand what we are doing. Limit your search to daylight hours only please.
The Maccabee Cemetery is list as having been first active in the late 1800's and is still active to this day. This land was donated for use as a cemetery by Harry Jensen, of Sprague, Washington. On Jun 09, 1900 the Maccabee Cemetery Association was incorporated, they ran the cemetery until the late-1930's. The Sprague Lion's Club then ran this cemetery until 1966. Then they turned this cemetery over to Lincoln county, who operates this cemetery to this day. During the 1940's to 1966 time period many of the cemetery records were lost or destroyed. There are said to be many unmarked, graves of unknown people in this cemetery today.
Since your already here you should also look for the other nearby cache GC5PYXX Spirit Quest - Lakeview cemetery which is in the abandoned cemetery immediately to the south of the Maccabee Cemetery.
While there are no posted hours, I'm asking that the cacher only search for this cache during daylight hours out of respect for the cemetery. While you are here please take your time and look around, and enjoy all of the history here, but remember to be respectful, since the cemetery is still active it is possible that there could be mourners or other visitors that might not understand what we are doing. The cache is accessed from the street, and there is parking for one geo-mobile at the cache site. You are looking for a small camoed metal tin, the hint should lead you right to it.
