4.23. Unarchiving a Geocache

The archiving of a geocache is intended to be a permanent status. That is why only community volunteer reviewers and Geocaching HQ staff have the capability to unarchive it. This is done only in rare circumstances and only if it meets the current Geocache Listing Guidelines.

If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance it will not be unarchived.

Geocache Description:

This is a series of caches for families with geokids. For most of them, kids will need some help in finding the container.

We'd been meaning to put a cache in this park for ages - it's fair to say that this park might have inspired the series. Not because it is outstanding in any way, simply because we walk past it a lot! Recently, we noted a brand new cache in Forest Lodge named "Kirsova 3" - we were surprised to find that this park in Erskineville is Kirsova 2 (and Kirsova 1 is nearby). Kirsova was a Danish ballerina who set up one of the two major ballet companies in Australia in the mid 20th century. Unfortunately, hers was unsuccessful in the end, and the other became the Australian Ballet, but she is now best remembered for the three small pocket parks that she purchased and made available for disadvantaged children.

We have to confess that this is the first cache of the series that geokids are likely to be able to find all by themselves.
