Geocache Description:

In the town of Llanidloes in Mid Wales, Longbridge is the bridge that spans the river severn.

Longbridge was built by Montgomery County Council in 1826, and widened in 1938. If you look up stream you can see two rivers the one on the left is the Severn, the one to the right is the River Clywedog. Where they meet is known locally as horses pool. Also to the left you can see St. Idloes Church. The grassy area is called the port. If you stand on the other side of the bridge and look to the left you will see a block of flats, Maes Yr Ysgol. It was the county school many years ago. Now it is residential housing for the elderly. This Cache is a small plastic pot with a red screw top lid. Please take care with geokids near to the river, and the road. On the side of the public foot path parking can be made in one of the town car parks and take a nice walk through the town or nearer to the cache you can park on the Fan Road or Trefeglyws Road. There is an old 'Three Pence Piece' for the first to find.
