Angel Island is our happy place, so come join us in our annual b-day celebration for BearTerritory. This year we will be joined by the GunnerBoyz, as it is his B-day weekend, too! We will meet at 3:30pm just outside the Cove Cantina Oyster Bar. The event will end at 4pm... short, but long enough to sing BearTerritory and the GunnerBoyz "Happy Birthday" and still be able exchange your Angel Island geocaching stories!
Angel Island is a California State Park and a wildlife preserve. According to the webpage for the Blue and Gold Fleet ferry service, "It is also one of the finest historical sites in the Bay Area that includes military garrisons and compounds from every major war dating back to the U.S. Civil War. Also known as the “Ellis Island of the West,” Angel Island’s Immigration Station was the first stop for millions of Pacific Basin, Asian and Russian immigrants entering the United States." It also affords some of the most breathtaking vista views of San Francisco, Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge. Spend the day caching, hiking, biking or segwaying around the island then meet just before catching the last ferry to wish BearTerritory and the GunnerBoyz a happy birthday! Although the band won't be there until June this year (http://angelisland.com/special-events), enjoy the deck of the Cantina as nice place to eat, drink and relax while you are waiting for the last ferry back.
