The purpose of this multi is to acquaint you with some interesting features in and around this library.
The Clayton Library is one of the younger branch libraries in the Contra Costa County Library system. The grand opening was March 4, 1995.

The “young adult” alcove along the windowed east wall of the library looks out on Library Bed #1 featuring several plants and shrubs. Hanging from a window at eye level is a two–panel design drawing showing a Planting Plan and Planting Key for Library Bed #1. In the Planting Key, find the shrub labeled “Boronia ‘Sharks Bay’ “

To the left of the main entrance to the library is a rose garden. Each plant is labeled with its name. There are two rose bushes with name plates bearing the name of a US President. What ordinal number in the sequence of US Presidents does his presidency occupy?
B is the second digit of this ordinal number. For example, 22nd, 13th, etc.

Just inside the main entrance there is plaque listing significant Clayton Community Library Benefactors.
C is the first digit of the minimum Platinum donation.

There is a sidewalk that begins at the left end of the rose garden and runs along the north end of the library. The sidewalk debouches onto a gravel pathway. Along the gravel path there is a wooden arbor and bench built as a Girl Scout Gold Award project.
D is the third digit of the Girl Scout Troop number.

Inside the main entrance, and to the left, is Hoyer Hall. Hoyer Hall serves as the Clayton City Council Chamber and as a public meeting room. On the wall next to the entry doors is a plaque dedicating the Hall to Robert and Eldora Hoyer.
E is the second (or third) digit of the year of the date of dedication.

Outside the library and to the right of the main entrance is a sign prohibiting skateboarding and rollerblading (but not geocaching) on library grounds.
