Geocache Description:

These caches have been placed with permission from Palacerigg country park.

Palacerigg is a 300-hectare country park that provides a sanctuary for a variety of wildlife including a thriving roe deer population.

Palacerigg'spnimal collection is unique in Central Scotland and provides an opportunity to see many rare breeds in addition to other friendly farm animals.

Rare breeds include Eriskay ponies, North Ronaldsay and Boreray sheep, Shetland and white park cattle, Bagot and Guernsey goats, and Tamworth pigs.

The park’s other attractions include a field archery course, a golf course, 10km network of bridle paths (with riding permits available from the visitor centre), a children's play area, a gift shop, a cafe and picnic sites.

To start the trail please park at Palacerigg country park car park, walk past the visitor centre towards the play park and then follow the path on your left. The trail is located close to a golf cource so please watch out for golf balls and also for Muggles.

This trail has been place with children in mind, so we have tried to make the caches fun. We have decided to just number our caches instead of naming them so there is an element of surpise when you get to GZ, all i will say is that some you will need a pen and also if you have any keyrings or large swaps them may come in useful too. Also if you collect the hidden co-ordinates you can also bag yourself the bounus cache hidden at the end of the trail. We are hoping to have some more caches set up once works have been completed on other areas of the park :)

Hope you enjoy our trail and dont forget to visit the park and Tree top walk within Palacerigg Country Park.

Well Done to GCUK and the kids for the FTF.
