Where: Long Point
When: June 13 2015, July 18 2015 8:30 - 15:30pm
Why: This is one of Canada’s 16 designated Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, and is worth a visit.
The event will happen at the posted location and at the given time. We will have a picnic on the beach, with your own supplied food and drink items, and share geocaching stories in a very unique setting. Please indicate in your log if you are willing to bring some snacks and sweets to share with the rest of the group.
The event is open for all, but obviously transportation will be an issue. If you have your own means of getting there, you're good to go. If not, arrangements will be made to take a limited number of people to the tip, please read below. For those with their own boats, a public boat launching ramp is available on location.
What to bring:
- Sufficient food and water for a full day.
- Warm clothing.
- Camera
- GPS (in case the captain gets lost)
Details of the trip
The event hosts will be looking into arranging a boat charter with Cronmiller At The Bridge if there is sufficient interest; there will be very limited space (8 SPOTS) and the cost will be $62.50 per person for the charter boat. The boat will leave at 9:00 am for a full-day trip (approx 7 hours). The trip to the tip takes approximately 1.5 hours. A waiting list will be started should we fill up.
IMPORTANT: As we all know a boat trip is highly dependent on the weather conditions.
Should the weather be unfavourable on the chosen date the trip will have to be rescheduled.
NOTE: Please do not use the cache listing as means of communicating.
