Geocache Description:

This is a small cache with room for log and to exchange a few small tokens.  Good parking on either side of road.  Watch for vineyard muggles and use your geosense!  Please replace exactly as found.

Chianti Road is named after the small train and stagecoach stop once nearby.  This area is not far from the original Italian Swiss Colony in Asti.  This region was once full of a wide selection of wine grapes favoring those chosen ideal by the italian swiss in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with chianti a popular and extremely food friendly wine produced well into the 1960's.  However, these varietals are uncommon now, slowly replaced with zinfandel, chardonnay and the ubiquitous cabernet sauvignon. When not growing grapes, farmers in the Alexander Valley were known for vast plum tree orchards to produce prunes, with Geyserville a central hub for canning and shipping.

This cache should be relatively easy to find, a good one for kids.  Please replace exactly as found.
