Geocache Description:

The 13th Annual Cache In Trash Out Weekend is scheduled for April 25 and 26, 2015.

Geocachers around the world celebrate International Cache In Trash Out weekend annually by hosting and participating in Cache In Trash Out Events in their local area. Events might be focused on litter clean-up, removal of invasive species, revegetation efforts or building trails. Together, we make an enormous positive impact. Did we mention that we also have a bit of fun while we're at it?

Groundspeak has confirmed that there will be a special souvenir for those logging an Attended at a CITO event on this weekend.

Cache In, Trash Out

Cache In Trash Out, or CITO, is an ongoing environmental initiative supported by the worldwide geocaching community. Since 2002, geocachers around the world have been dedicated to improving parks and other cache-friendly places. Through these volunteer efforts, we help preserve the natural beauty of our outdoor resources!

The Event

The event will take place on Sunday 26th April, 2015 from 12pm. I expect the clean up to end by 2pm. We will meet in the parking area at Bray Harbour (see starting coordinates), before splitting in to smaller teams and cleaning up the harbour and riverwalk area.

Directions

Cars can be parked free of charge in the harbour on a Sunday. If parking spots are full up here, there is another car park around the corner infront of Martello Terrace. Please note that parking is at your own risk.

If you don't have access to a car, you can take the DART to Bray and turn left after walking over the tracks. GZ is a 5 minute walk from here. The 145 bus will also leave you to Bray DART station.

Please take care of junior geocachers near the water, particularly at the harbour

What to Bring

  • Work or garden gloves, if you have them
  • A litter picker, if you have one

This event is being organised in conjunction with Wicklow County Council and the local Coast Care Group. The Coast Care Group have kindly offered to once again provide us with litter pickers, gloves and bin bags. If you have your own litter pickers and gloves, please bring them along.
