This is where the Togagatic River, that feeds Nelson Lake, crosses the Seeley Fire Lane. I wanted to point this out because it is easy to cross over the river and never know it. This river continues down and joins with the Namakagon.
The Totogatic River is an 80 mile long river that flows through Bayfield, Sawyer, Washburn, Douglas and Burnett counties in WI. It empties into the Namekagon River. The name comes from an Ojibwa word "Totogan" meaning 'place of floating bogs' or 'boggy river'. It is a wild gem with excellent water quality, great fishing and paddling opportunities. Nelson Lake was formed when the River was dammed in the late 1930s. It also provides a rich habitat for diverse aquatic and terrestrial species (WI DNR)
