Helensburgh – what’s in the name? When Sir James Colquhoun of Luss planned this town, he named it after his wife Helen Sutherland. It didn’t take long for Helensburgh to develop into a fashionable place for Glasgow’s rapidly growing middle class as well as a holiday resort “doon the watter” for Glaswegians.
